Our mission
Random video chat got a bad reputation for a reason — the original generation of sites traded safety, design and user respect for a firehose of "anything goes" matches. Pancam exists to prove a modern version can be different: fast, anonymous, properly moderated, and designed with the same care as the apps you use every day.
We want Pancam to be the place where you confidently say "let's open it and see who's around" — whether you're solo, with friends, or running a Group vs Group with your crew.
Our story
Pancam started in 2025 as a hobby project after Omegle shut down. A small group of friends — engineers, designers and a chronic chatroulette enthusiast — wanted somewhere modern to hang out with strangers without the toxic edge of the old generation of sites.
We rewrote random video chat from first principles. Peer-to-peer WebRTC so video never touches our servers. A real interest-based matchmaker. Group video rooms with side-by-side layouts no other platform offers. And a UI that doesn't look like it was built in 2009.
What's different
We focused on the small things that matter most when you're meeting someone you don't know:
- Peer-to-peer video. Your camera feed goes directly to the other person via WebRTC. We don't proxy it, record it, or store it.
- Interest-based matching. Add a few interests when you sign up and our queue prefers people who share them.
- Group rooms, properly. Group vs Group, 1 vs Group and Group vs 1 — with a clean Group A (left) / Group B (right) layout.
- Modern UI, full mobile support. Dark or light theme, fluid layouts, keyboard shortcuts, real accessibility.
- Safety as a first-class citizen. One-tap skip, ban, and report-with-discussion-ticket — admins can ask follow-up questions inside the report itself.
